Expanding emergency and women's services at an operating hospital — without interrupting patient care.
Project overview
When a hospital expands its emergency department and women’s services, the building has to keep caring for patients every minute of construction. This INTEGRIS expansion in Enid added capacity to two of the hospital’s most critical departments.
Henson’s role
Healthcare construction is a discipline of its own. Henson’s team implemented Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) procedures, built temporary containment barriers, scheduled utility shutdowns after hours with hospital facilities staff, and coordinated specialty systems — medical gases, nurse call and life-safety — through inspection and accreditation-ready closeout. Henson’s long-tenured superintendents and excellent safety record matter even more on a site where patients and caregivers are just on the other side of the wall.
The result
Expanded emergency and women’s services for Enid and the surrounding region, delivered while the hospital stayed fully operational.
