Renovation & Restoration

From historic high schools to downtown landmarks, we breathe new life into existing buildings — while the people inside keep working, learning and healing.

Respect for what’s there. Vision for what’s next.

Renovation is where experience matters most. Hidden conditions, aging utilities and original construction methods all reveal themselves once work begins. Henson’s long-tenured project managers and superintendents have seen it before — and they plan for it.

Occupied buildings, uninterrupted operations

Schools stay in session. Hospitals keep treating patients. Offices keep serving clients. We build detailed phasing plans, separate work zones, control dust and noise, and coordinate every shutdown with your facilities team.

Historic restoration and adaptive reuse

From restoring the masonry and fountain plaza at historic Enid High School to transforming a downtown brick building into Leonardo’s Children’s Museum, Henson has a track record of preserving character while delivering modern performance.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you renovate a building while it's occupied?
Yes. Much of Henson’s work is in occupied schools, hospitals and offices. We phase construction, separate work areas, schedule noisy or disruptive work after hours, and coordinate utility shutdowns in advance so operations continue.
Do you handle historic building restoration?
Yes. Projects like the Enid High School renovations and Leonardo’s Children’s Museum required restoring historic masonry and preserving original character while bringing buildings up to modern codes.
